This role will be instrumental in producing captivating visual content across various platforms, including graphic design, motion graphics, ad creation, and video editing. This full-time role is on-site in the downtown Birmingham office in the theatre district. Led by the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Creative Designer & Multimedia Specialist will work diligently alongside the Marketing and Communications team to produce content that resonates and moves target audiences into action.  

Responsibilities: 

1. Conceptualize and create visually stunning graphics, illustrations, and layouts for digital and print media.
2. Develop engaging motion graphics and animations for various projects, including advertisements, social media content, and promotional videos.
3. Collaborate with the marketing team to design and produce compelling ads that effectively communicate our brand message and drive engagement.
4. Edit and enhance video footage to produce high-quality content for marketing campaigns, product demonstrations, tutorials, and other multimedia projects.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies to ensure our visual content remains fresh, innovative, and relevant.
6. Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide creative input, and deliver projects within established timelines.
7. Maintain organized files and assets, ensuring efficient workflow and easy access to project materials.
8. Assist in the development of brand guidelines and visual standards to maintain consistency across all creative assets.
9. Contribute to brainstorming sessions and idea generation for new projects and initiatives.
10. Adapt quickly to feedback and iterate on designs to meet project goals and objectives.

Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Fine Arts, or related field.
2. Proven experience in graphic design, motion graphics, ad creation, and video editing, preferably in a creative agency or similar environment.
3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant design and video editing software.
4. Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative work, including examples of graphic design, motion graphics, ad campaigns, and video projects.
5. Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
7. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate creative concepts and ideas.
8. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
9. Knowledge of web design principles, HTML, CSS, and responsive design is a plus.
