Careers at Evolv IT
IT Support Technician (Tier 2)
Birmingham, Alabama or remote for the right candidate
Resolve user, Microsoft 365, endpoint, and common infrastructure issues across compliance-driven client environments with disciplined documentation and ownership.
The Role
Own work that matters
Tier 2 is where technical range meets operating discipline. You will work directly with users, own issues through resolution, document what changed, and escalate cleanly when a problem requires deeper engineering.
What You Will Own
Responsibilities
The work
- Troubleshoot and resolve endpoint, Microsoft 365, identity, printing, application, connectivity, and common server issues.
- Own assigned tickets through communication, diagnosis, resolution, documentation, and client confirmation.
- Follow security, change, time-entry, escalation, and documentation standards on every ticket.
- Maintain accurate client and device documentation as environments change.
- Recognize recurring problems and surface opportunities for permanent fixes.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours support coverage as required by the role.
What you bring
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and common business applications.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MFA, and endpoint security.
- Clear client communication and the ability to explain next steps without unnecessary jargon.
- Strong ticket notes, time accuracy, and escalation judgment.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, or vendor certifications are helpful, but demonstrated ability and discipline matter more.
What success looks like
- Tickets carry correct status, complete notes, accurate time, and a clear next action.
- Users know what is happening and do not have to chase for updates.
- Issues are resolved correctly, not merely closed quickly.
- Documentation improves as a result of every environment touched.

Tier 2 develops toward Tier 3. Tier 3 develops toward architecture and leadership. Continuous learning is a Non-Negotiable here, which means the company invests in it, not just expects it.
W-2 with benefits, visible work.
Every seat has a number and every team has a scorecard. If you perform, everyone knows it.
The Standard
How we work
Our Non-Negotiables are how we hire, review, and promote. The ones that matter most in this role are discipline, extreme ownership, continuous learning, high standards, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Own the outcome
If it touched your hands, the next action and the quality of the result are yours.
Document the work
Good work becomes repeatable when the next person can understand what happened and why.
Keep raising the standard
We expect feedback, learning, and measurable improvement rather than comfortable repetition.
